CarDomain Video is a video sharing community. We built it so that people who enjoy shooting digital video and showing it to other people have an easy and fun place to do that. So if you want to share video with your friends and family, get some feedback on your work from a community of other videophiles, or just look at some cool video, you should join us at CarDomain Video.
How much does it cost to use CarDomain Video?
The site is completely free.
Are there any restrictions about what I can post on the site?
Yes. You can’t post pornography. You can’t post video that is copy written or not in the public domain. You probably shouldn’t post video that is really unflattering of people you like because they might get truly angry, but that’s your business. See the Terms and Conditions for full rights and limitations.
Do I have to have a certain browser or system to use CarDomain Video?
CarDomain Video works in any browser and on any system (Windows PC, Mac, whatever).The only requirement is that you have the Adobe Flash Player 7 or higher on your system.
Can I post CarDomain video to my blog?
Absolutely. The Clip information page shows the HTML code you can copy and paste into your blog. Be sure to copy the html EXACTLY as is, without adding extra breaks or spaces. And let us know what else you want in terms of making it easier for you to link your video so we can make it better. video@cardomain.com
Today, you can look at and comment on video on the public site. Become a member and upload your own video and share it with whoever you want. Link your video to your blog. Sort your videos by topics and check out clips on the same topic. Comment on clips, rate them or add a webcam review. We just keep getting better!
Do you support Dial-up connections via analog modems?
We do not recommend dial-up connections for viewing video on CarDomain Video. We recommend a broadband connection such as DSL or cable modem with at least 1.5Mbps downstream and 384Kbps upstream.
How much disk space do I have available and how is it calculated?
We give you a whopping 5GB of storage for your clips. It is calculated by the size of the files you upload.

Is there a size limit on the files I upload?
Yes, we currently have a file limit of 100MB, but we do not have a limit on length. Its true, longer clips are generally larger in size, but 100MB is pretty big.
What file type does CarDomain Video support?
We support a wide range of video types from digital camera, camcorders, and mobile phones. We support the following video formats: .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp2, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .avi, and .dv.
What’s the best video format to use to get the best quality?
We would recommend MPEG-4 (Quicktime, Divx, Xvid) and the frame size 320x240 and MP3 audio.
Can I share videos with others?
Yes you can share by emailing or placing your videos in blogs or websites. To email when you are watching a clip click on the “Email this clip” link below the name of the user who uploaded the clip. Also when viewing a list of clips, check the box in the lower left corner of the clips you want to email and then select
How about if I don’t want to email clips, is there another way?
Yes, there is a new feature called My URL which let’s you email or blog a link of all your Public videos and Favorites. Your friends can come back and check the URL anytime to see if you have uploaded anything new.
Can I download videos from CarDomain Video?
We currently do not offer the capability of downloading clips from the site.
What Webcam models does CarDomain Video support?
We should work with most name brand webcams. We did extensive testing with Logitech, Creative Labs and Apple webcams. Heck, one of our developers tried a webcam company called Dynex and it worked as well. You may visit the Adobe's Camera compatibility matrix page and review a list of supported cameras, but the page is a little outdated. If you have problems recording or connecting make sure you have the latest drivers from your webcam manufacturer.
What do I do if I forget my password?
You click on the “Forgot your Password?” button on the Login page and an email gets sent to the email address in your profile.
What about if I want to change my password?
You go to the My Profile page and change it!
